King's Birthday. To-morrow, being the King’s Birthday, the “Thames .Star” will not be published. Time Inopportune. ‘This is not the time to raise fees,” said Mr F. W. No reports ( of the effects of the volcanic dust in the atmosphere. have been received as yet from Australia, which country would be affected by the cloud before New Zealand. Bowlers on Tqur.

Two rinks from the Thames Bowling Club left to-day to compete in the Onehunga Bowling Club’s winter tournament, which commences tomorrow. These are composed of Messrs J. Buchan, G. Twentyman, A. Delamore and F. Adamson (skip), and Messrs J. Boyle, W. D. Bennett, W. S. Clark and W. Gordon (skip). These are strong teams, and should do well.
