ADDRESS AT COROMANDEL.
BENEFITS TO FARMERS
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent) ® COROMANDEL, June 1
A meeting was held in the Caledonian Hall on Tuesday night, and was fairly .well attended. Mr Balfour Dawson presided, and introduced Messrs A. M. Samuel, M.P., and Mr Bamfield, of the Public Trust Office, of Auckland, and ask,ed for an attentive hearing on the subject of Intermediate Rural Credits Associations. • Mr Samuel, on"rising to speak, explained that* he had had his speech type-written, and proposed to leave it with tjio.se interested in forming a local Association. He then gave a particularly clear account of the objects of and the methods to be adopted in the formation of a local Association, and the benefits to farmers which the Rural Credits Associations were capable of when conforming to the conditions laid down by the Act of 1927. Mr Dawson thanked Mr Samuel for the information his address had given and for the able manner in which it had been presented. He then asked Mr Bamfield to give information regarding the procedure t'. be followed. Mr Bamfield stated that Mr Samuel had given such a comprehensive address that there was very little for him to add. He explained two or three items, and informed the meeting that he had the necessary documents for the formation of a loca' Association. Mr Dawson suggested that if enough interest existed it would be a good time to start at the close v the meeting. A vote of thanks to the speakers, carried by acclamation, brought the proceedings to a close.
