THREE PEOPLE BURNED.
KEROSENE USED ON HAIR, CATCHES FIRE FROM CANDLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GISBORNE, July 20 Whilst two children, aged 12, in the house of Sana. Kara, a Hindu, at Ruatoria, were rubbing kerosene into each other's hair, one girl, Bessie White, came into contact with a lighted caudle. She rushed to her companion, Kara, whose hair also caught fire. Whilst the Hindu father extinguished the flames on his daughter's head the child, White, rushed outdoors, being fortunately perceived by Constable Ryan, who went to the rescue and put the fire out. Both girls and Kara were removed to the To Puia Hospital, being severely burned. Their condition this morning is reported to bo satisfactory.
