SNOW ON THE WEST COAST.
VERY HEAVY PALL. GREYMOUTH AND HOKITIKA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GREYMOUTH, July 20 Greymouth woke this mroning to find itself snow-covered for the first time for 20 years and the heaviest fall in living memory for the town. An old resident states that .snow has fallen in the town only four times since 1870. ■Snow continued to fall this morning till 10 o'clock. There are beauteous scenes on the neighbouring hills. Much snowballing is being engaged in. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) HOKITIKA, July 20 The heaviest snowfall for over 30 years occurred this morning, over 2in. falling in the town, and much heavier in the country districts, being from six to eight inches. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) REEPTON, July 20 Snow fell to a depth of 3in. on Saturday night, and last night there was a further fall to a depth of 12in. All outside work is suspended and also all work in the -eoal mines. This is the third fall this month and the heaviest for 20 years.
