The ladies’ competition for the Provincial Cup was reduced to its final stage, Auckland A and Paeroa being left into decide the final today. The play-olf in the B section was won by Whangarei A in the morning, and the semi-finals were played in the afternoon. These provided some sterling play, which aroused appreciation among a good crowd of spectators. Auckland A secured a good win at Waikato’s expense, while Whangarei made a line showing to go doivn to Paeroa in a fighting finish by an odd goal in three. Provincial Cup section play-off. Whangarei A 4 (Misses Sterling 3, McLeod 1) v. Auckland C 1 (Miss Sckouller). Semi-finals: Auckland A 2 (Miss Lowe) v. Waikato, 0; Paeroa 2 (Misses Sliand and O’Neil) v. Whangarei 1 (Miss McLeod). Friendly games. Kerepeehi 2 (Misses Bertelscn and Fisher) v. Auckland B 1 (Miss Hayes); Whangarei B 3. v. Thames 0. Kent Cup.—Whangarei 3, v. Piako 2. After a quarter of an hour’s extra time had been played Whangarei scored the winning goal.
