DISTRICT HOCKEY.

COROMANDEL FORMS CLUB. FOUR TEAMS AVAILABLE. The revival of hockey in Coromandel has become an accomplished fact, a meeting in Mr J. Clark's rooms last evening deciding to form a men's club, whilst a ladies' club is also in process of formation. There were about 20 persons present at the meeting, Mr R. G. Iriglis being elected to the chair. The chairman outlined the proposal, and the idea met with a ready acceptance. Election of Officers. The following were elected to the official positions in connection with the new club: — ; President: Mr T. Barrett. Vice-presidents: Messrs W. S. Smith, T. W. Rhodes, W. K. Peachey, H. Howell, H. Chambers and C. Eraser. Sec. and treas.: Mr W. Peters. Committee: Messrs A. Barrett, R. G. Denize, R. J. Inglis, J. Gould, J. Clark, G. McQuoid and C. Peachey. The annual sub. for this season was fixed at 2/6, and i£ was decided to make application for the use of Mr M. Gorrie's paddock for a playing field. It was stated that two men's and two ladies' teams would be fielded, and that the question of gear would need consideration. In connection with affiliation with the Thames-Hauraki Association it was resolved to make the necessary inquiries into the position. The ladies present deputed to go into the ouestion of organising their club, and the further details will he dealt with at the next meeting, which is due to take place in a week's time.
