BOXER COLLAPSES.

IN SERIOUS CONDITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ Aug. 23. During the progress or the boxing -championships last evening, P. Bush, •of Blenheim, when competing in the heavyweight class collapsed during .an interval between a bout with R. Nicol..- Southland. He was carried from the ring unconscious, and was admitted to the hospital, undergoing ;an operation at an early hour this morning. His condition s stated to be serious. The bout was not strenuous, and Rush did not appear to receive any blow to cause any serious injury to his heul, which woufd ac••count for his collapse.
