ENORMOUS FIGURES.
PRODUCE FIRM’S SHOWING
ALL RECORDS SHATTERED. (Special to “Star.”) AUCKLAND, Aug. 21. All records were shattered last production year when the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing , Company put through its works and stores an amazing quantity of produce. In the annual report to be presented to the shareholders on September 26 the directors recommend the payment of a dividend of six per cent, per annum. The statement of stock handled shows a record killing of iambs, a substantial recovery in sheep, veal, calves and cattle dealt with, and a slight reduction in pigs and bobby calves treated.
In the dairy produce, butter‘again showed a large increase, the two and a half million mark having been past, an increase of 18 per cent, over the previous season. The cheese increase of 8 per cent, was accounted for by the handling of over 200,000 crates.
Fruit exported also showed a large increase, being greater by 24j000 eases, and the local storage figures by 35,000 cases.
Compared Avith last season, the profit for the year was £18,289, an increase of £1609. Capital had been increased by the allotment of 52,128 neAv shares to dairy companies.
