TURUA. v (From Our Correspondent). What may lie termed the opening of the season as far as large dances are concerned, was the Turua Ladies’ Hockey Club’s dance last week. The crowd was a large one, the dancing space being thronged with happy, couples, intoxicated with the wine of youth. Monte Carlo, spot and balloondances were most enthusiastically participated in. The committee are to be congratulated on their successful The music'was supplied by the “K” Hoys, with extras by Miss Halligen and Mr. C. Robertson. Air. W. Clark acted as M.C. • Dairy Co.’s Celebrations.

On luesdav evening the suppliers and staff of the Hauraki Plains Dairy Company gathered at the Turua Hall for their annual celebration. There was a large crowd and everyone was in good spirits, a natural result of the annual meeting. This year the entertainment took the form of a social evening, all hands entering into the spirit of the 11 and .thjjigsi went with -a swung. Items w - ere rendered by Missfc E. Donnelly, songs; Mrs. Williams, songs; Miss Williams, violin solo; Mr. Williams, cornet solo. Music of a very high order was supplied by Williams’ Orchestra, and dancing was indulged in until a late hour.
