■PRISONERS SENTENCED. AUCKLAND SUPREME COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 19. Prisoners sentenced by Mr Justice Herdman were:— Albert James Barnes, for forgery, two years' hard labour; William Matthews, a young Maori, for breaking and entering, two years' hard labour; William Gerald Cain, for forgery, 18 months' reformative detention.

Tommy Webber, a quarter-caste Maori, assault and robbery at Rotorua, was remanded for the probation officer's report.
