GAVE YOUNG GIRL DRUGS.

WELLINGTON, July 4. Mr. E. W. Page, S.M., inflicted a fine of £SO, in default three months’' 4 ilmprisonment, (fa Ktiilph Antovlch for administering a dangerous drug to a young girl. Antovich is a labourer, 45 years of age. He made the acquaintance of the girl, who is aged r \ 17, though his own daughter,- who Is 20 started her out, according to the police story, and giving her the drug in coffee and soft drinks. Later he used a hypodermio syringe and she wa9 taken to the hospital for 14 days.
Tlie magistrate remarked that it would he difficult to imagine a case worse in its characteristics. He said tliat apparently the drug was administered with an ulterior object m view.
