Motorists using the Dunedin to Invercargill main highway' last Saturday had some unenviable experiences owing to the heavy snow. A driver who reached Invercargill about 6 p.m. stated that at Arthurton, where the snow was particularly heavy, nine oars and a lorry were held up. All motorists were amazed at the amount of petrol used on the trip. Instead of six or seven gallons 12 were required.
