AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON.

The final Plunket Shield match-of the season commenced between Auckland and Wellington on the Basin Reserve .to-day, in fine sunny weather. Auckland won the toss, and Mills and Anthony went in to bat on what appeai-ed to be a good wicket. MeGirr opened the Wellington bowling from the southern end, and off his fifth ball clean-bowled Mills before a run had been scored. With the score at eight, Anthony was caught by Cameron. " After this the batsmen watched the bowling carefully, and runs came slowly for a time. Fifty went up in as, many minutes.
