SENTENCES FOR CRIME.
WELLINGTON .SUPREME COURT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 1. ■Prisoners sentenced by Mr Justice Reed are as follows: — James Maxwell and Jack Messenger, breaking and entering by night with intent to commit a crime, each 12 months’ hard labour. Arthur Rouse, breaking, entering and theft, 18 months’hard labour. Henry Ball (65), arson at Palmerston North, two years’ hard labour and declared to be an habitual criminal. Alexander Kyle, charged jointly with Lewis Arthur Courtney with breaking and entering by night with intent to commit a crime, was ordered to come up if called within three months, and to leave New Zealand within two months. Courtney received two years’ Borstal. Alfred Croft, for assault nad robbery at Picton, two years’ hard labour.
