“I been crook,” remarked a native ■who appeared before the Opunake Magistrate's Court on Friday in answer to a judgment summons. “I Was somebody I suppose it would have been in the paper, and you’d know I been crook. But I been crook mate,” lie added later to examining counsel’s question as to why he had ’jaot paid the debt.
