ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DIED AT' A MEETING
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Sept. 20.
Tragedy attended a meeting of Gisborne Bowling Club on Wednesday evening, when a prominent member, Mr Samuel Joseph Henry Moncrieff, aged 72, a retired civil servant, collapsed and died almost immediately. Mr Monchieff had just submitted an amendment to a motion regarding the laying out of the green, and had outlined his own plan, when he sat down suddenly, and death occurred within a few minutes. He was highly esteemed in bowling circles and was treasurer of the club. He leaves a widow and two daughters. BOTH LEGS CUT OFF. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, Sept. 20. While crossing the Hawera railway yards at six o'clock yesterday evening Samuel Brown, aged 19, a cadet in the railway goods office, jumped between some standing waggons. He was struck and knocked between the wheels of the front truck of a number being shunted with an engine in the rear. Brown suffered terrible injuries, including the severance of both legs. He died within half an hour' while being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

BOY DIES SUDDENLY
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 20.
Ronald Waghorn. aged 6, living at Carey's Bay, had his breakfast and returned to bed when he suddenly expired.
