DAFFODIL AWARDS.
MR. DANiBY'S SUCCESS.
AT CAMBRIDGE SHOW
Mr J. W. Danby has secured a further splendid record of awards for his daffodils at the Cambridge Show, and he is to be greatly complimented on his success.
The Cambridge Show was a great success, and the exhibits show that there is greatly increased interest being taken in the culture of daffodils in the Waikato. Mr Danby had in most cases five, and in one case ten, exhibits to compete against, and* the fact that he won three out of the four championships speaks highly of the quality of his blooms. The following are Mr Danby's first awards in the varieties' classes: Three varieties Trumpets, 3 stems of each; 6 varieties Trumpets, 3 stems of each; 9 varieties Trumpets, 1 stem of each; 3 varieties Medium Cup varieties, 3 stems of- each; 6 varieties Medium Cup varieties, 3 stems of each; 9 varieties Medium Cup varieties, 1 stem of each; 3 varieties Red Cup varieties, 3 stems of each; 3 varieties Barii varieties, 3 stems of each; 3 varieties Leedsii, Giant varieties, 3 stems of each; 3 varieties Leedeii, Small varieties, 3 stems of .each; 9 varieties Giant Deedsii, 1 stem of each.
First Award in Single Bloom Classes: Yellow Trumpet, White Trumpet, Incomparablis, Triandrus Hybrid.
Second Prizes: 3 varieties Yellow Trumpets, 3 stems of each; Bicolour Trumpet, single bloom; Barii, single bloom.
Champion Blooms in Yellow Trumpet, Incomparablis, Leedsii, being three out of the four championships offered.
The Daffodil Cup for aggregate points was also won by Mr Danby.
