AND THE PURCHASE BOARD. '. ALTERATION PROPOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. The only amendment made to the Land Laws Amendment Bill by the Lands Committee, which reported the measure to the House yesterday, affects the constitution .of the proposed Local Land Purchase Boards. The amendment provides that two instead of three members shall be appointed by the Governor-General. The committee recommends that there should 'be a classification of all lands of . the Dominion according to (a) Whether the land is suitable for closer settlement; and (b) Whether the land is suitable for closer settlement and subdivision.
