WAGES IN DISPUTE.
: - * AGAINST A TRAINER. % JUDGMENT FOR CLAIMANT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) AUCKLAND, Sept. 3. “The orily money he paid me all time I worked for him was 5/-, which he said would get me some cigarettes to see me over the week-end.” stated William Ker at the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when claiming from Andrew Bryce £45 in wages. * Both parties are trainers of racehorses. Ker gave evidence that he worked for Bryce from March 20 to July 3 of last year when the latter had in training D’Artnagan, Nut Linton, Lochade, Gold Rein, Landlord, and Lord Minto. Not only had he not received his wages of £3 weekly but h e had taken a horse for the defendant to a meeting at Cambridge and paid his own fare. He thought he could get paid any time, and, having backed a few winners, had not asked Bryce fpr his wages. The Magistrate, Mr Cutten, declared that Bryce's evidence in defence was unsatisfactory, -and gave judgment for Ker for £32.
