A LOBBY INCIDENT.
, MR. SAMUEL’S CHARGES. ' AGAINST HON. H. ATMORE. MORE TO’BE HEARD OF IT. ((By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. Speculation as to the outcome of the breach of privilege alleged by Mr A. M. Samuel (Thames) against the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. Atmore. has been rife in Parliamentary circles during the week-end, and St seems, likely that the subject will fee revived in the House. The debate
►bn the matter was adjourned on Friday until to-day, the hope being generally expressed that the two principals to the quarrel would in the meantime come together jn a friendly way and agree on p. formula Which would fee satisfactory to both. It' is improbable that much will be heard of the matter to-day, however, as Mr Atmore, who has been visiting Nelson for the week-end, has suffered a bereavement in the death of a bro-ther-in-law and is not expected to return to Wellington before Wednesday. It is expected, that the subject will merely be mentioned today and the discussion adjourned until a later date. Mr Samuel says that he did not desire to have the question dealt with until the Minister has returned.
