OBITUARY.
MR. JAMES REID. The death occurred at four o’clock this morning, at Marton, from heart failure, of Mr James Reid, editor of the Rangitikei Advocate. Born in Thames, Mr Reid commenced his journalistic labours as a members of the staff of the “Thames Star,” and later went to . Wanganui, where, for a number of years, he was employed on the staff of the Wanganui Chronicle. From there he left to take up the .position which he held at the time of his death. He was one of a family of nine. Amongst them ai*e Mesdames E. N. Miller (Thames), Treloar (Hamilton), Alfred Oldham (president T.O.G. Association), N. Law (Wanganui), and Miss Harris Reid (Thames). Messrs D. and W- Reid (New Plymouth) are brothers.
