CIVIL BUSINESS DONE,
Civil business occupied the attention of the Thames Magistrate's Court this morning, the only police cases being adjourned. Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., entered judgment for plaintiff in the following undefended civil cases, plaintiff's name •• ■ being given first, in every case:— Hugh Black v. Mabel Harvev, £9/1/6, costs, £2/2/6; W. J. Cropp V. E. H. Davies, £9 (£l/12/6); G. Cjourtney v.- H. Tina,. £B/17/6 (£l/15/6); J. M. Treadaway v. A. Wells, £l/3/6 (8/-). ' • Judgment Summonses. E. H. Martin was ordered to pay Smith and Caughey, Ltd. £l7/6/9 at. the rate of £5 per month; in default, 14 days in the Thames Gaol. /Wallis Edwards, at the suit of the Thames Gas Company, said that ho received 2/6 an hour when working but did not average £4/10/- per week. He could not give a detailed statement of his earnings. Thie case was stood down to enable Edwards to get a statement of his wages from his emloyer. He stated that he did not spend an v of his wages in drink. He N was a married man with seven children. *
An order was" made for the payment of 10/- per month from a total of £3/9/6. Default was fixed at 24 hours' imprisonment.
