MERCURY BAY FISHERS.
DEPUTATION TO MR. SAMUEL. GESTURE , AGAINST TRAWLERS. A deputation of fishermen waited on Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., on Sunday evening last, placing matters before him as outlined in the article from the "Star's" correspondent at Whitianga, published last Friday.' The fishermen are anxious to stop any trawlers and seine-netters from fishing on these grounds. Several speakers placed the matter before Mr Samuel; who promised to make representations to the Department and the Minister of Marine.
