A SAD OCCASION.
SIR C. SKERRETT’S FUNERAL. MESSAGE FROM PREMIER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Mar. 19. Sir Joseph Ward has forwarded through the High Commissioner to Miss Skerrett a message of sympathy in connection with the funeral of her father taking place so far from the country where, rsr his lifetime, Sir Charles Skerrett, by his own efforts, made such a great t name among all classes. The message concluded: “All New Zealanders who knew him are with you and your family in spirit on this sad occasion.”
