CAR STRIKES CATTLE.
DRIVER FAILS TO STOP
SEQUEL IN POLICE COURT
A service car driver, Henry Charles Puckev, was ordered to pnv costs, £3/ 12/3 .by M. E. 0. Gotten, S.M., in the Pukekolie Police Court last week on a charge that on Mav 3 at Maramania he failed to stop when approaching cattle on the road, although requested to do so by the person in charge of the cattle.
James B. Aitken, farmer, of Pum, said lie was driving 40 c-ows to Waitakarurn and on reaching the Maraniarua bridge noticed the service car approaching from the other direction. Ho held up his whip and signalled the driver to stop. Howe’ er, the car came on ‘slowly across the bridge and knocked two of the cows into the stream.
