HOSPITAL EXPENDITURE.
INDEPENDENT COMMISSION. DESIRED AT PALMERSTON NORTH. (By Telegraph—-Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., May 22. Following upon a notification from the Palmerston North Hospital of an increase of levies for the coming year, and also the estimates of the capital expenditure, including a new two-storey block of buildings, the Borough Council last evening passed a resolution requesting the Government to appoint an independent commission to inquire into the whole matter of hospital expenditure. The Council, as a preliminary step, decided to arrange for a deputation to meet the Hon. J. A. Young when he visits Palmerstoti North on Monday next and place the Council’s views before him.
