ESS AND ESS. Extract from the Hobar.t Press, where Ess and Ess performed under Vice-Regal patronage:— Undoubtedly the hit of the evening was the remarkable performance of JEss and -£ss. One partner sits on the stage blindfolded and his partner moves among the audience pointing to various articles furnished" bv the audience, and with won'derful ouickness and precision, they were described correctly, mentioning the dates of the coins. The numbers on cards, even before they had been seen by the person drawing and answering numerous questions written by the audience and placed in sealed envelopes. Arithmetical problems selected at random from a ready reckoner by a well-known business man were instantly solved, all the figures selected and the answers being correctly given. It was quite an uncanny performance and for all those interested in mind-reading and clairvovancy is well worth seeing. ... "KID BOOTS."
While Eddie Cantor was making "Kid Boots,'' the new Paramount picture, which comes to the King's Theatre to-night and to-morrow night, Director Frank Tut tie couldn't think of a comedy "gag" for one particular sentience. He and Cantor called on Hank Mann, comedy constructor. Raymond Griffith dropped in from an adjoining stage to say •'Hello." Then Harold Lloyd appeared to talk over old times- with the Broadway star. Ford Sterling, just back from New York, and Chester Conklin, about to leave for the big city, arrived a minute later. An hour later an agreement was' reached as to how the scene should be made. ft Avas completed amid hand-clapping and cheerts. The players appearing in the featured supporting cast in "Kid Boots" includes Clara, Bow, Billie Dove, and Larry Grav. .. . ''l;-,. .. .',:': ~' ;■ , v.'.
