VISIT OF HON. WILLIAMS.
ARRIVAL ON THURSDAY. TOUR OF THE PENINSULA. RIDE OVER TO TAIRUA. The Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, will- arrive at Thames on Thursday, although at what time is not yet" definitely known. Mr T. W. Rhodes, M.P., has favoured us with his itinerary on the following days, and an intimation will be given in a later issue regarding the time the Minister will arrive at Thames. The Minister will stay at the Park Hotel on Thursday, and in the afternoon will, receive any deputations that have been arranged. On Friday, Mr Williams will motor up the Kauaeranga as far as the road goes, and' the nwill be met by horses ready to take his party over the hills to the road to Tairua. A motor will await him there, and take him to a luncheon tendered by the settlers of the district. Deputations on various matters will wait on the Minister at this place. Later in the day he will motor to Tairua and he will spend the night at Sir George Grey Hotel. On Saturday morning Mr Williams leaves Tairua by horse for Whenuakite, and from there will, motor to Coroglen, where he will partake of lunch, later leaving for Whitianga, He will spend Saturday night at Whitianga and part of Sunday, during which time he will be the guest of the Mercury Bay Swordfish and Mako Shark Club, who will take him. out on to the fishing grounds if the weather is suitable. -
On Sunday evening Mr Williams will motor to Coromandel, leaving Monday morning for Port Charles, where the settlers have organised a function to celebrate the completion of the road to that township. Mr Williams will stay Monday night at Port Charles. A visit to the Great Bailer will be !started on Tuesday, and Mr Savage, M.P., will join the party at Port Charles. The return journey will be via Port Jackson, and the Minister will come up the western shore to Colville, where he will be entertained to luncheon, afterwards proceeding to Coromandel, where he will spend the afternoon and evening, being entertained by the Coromandel County Council at a social. •
On Thursday the party will motor to Thames, and after a short stay, cross over to the Hauraki Plains to Ngatea, from whence Mr. Williams will travel to Auckland. Mr T. W. Rhodes will accompany the Minister on his tour of the district, meeting him at Tauranga next Thursday.
