FASHIONS AND MODES. DRESSES ON THE LAWN. PICTURESQUE PARAWAI. The lawn at Parawai presented a kaleidoscopic sight with pretty frocks. Most people took the precaution to bring- raincoats but as the day wore on discarded them and the lawn was alive witli autumn tints. v Amongst those present were:— Mrs. W. Price, black satin beaute, hat relieved with touches of scarlet. Mrs. Bert Collins (Maiigere), shell pink embossed georgette, hat to match, with diamond brooch and pink pearl bead trimming, silk repp fringed coat. Mrs. S. Taylor (Hamilton), pink silk charmeuse, small cloche hat to match. Airs. W. Bongard, tailor made costune in dark brown with beige stripe, beige fox fur and black velour hat. Airs. E. F. Adams, navy blue erepe-de-chine with hat and coat to match. Airs. W. Watson, champagne embroidered crepe-de-chine, mauve trimmings and hat. Airs. J. E. Anderson, bois-de-rose jersey suit and hat to tone. Airs. Guy Shaw, navy blue tailored suit, cherry hat. Airs. H. J. Baker champagne crepe-de-chine coat, hat en suite. Airs. W. Sowerby, cinnamon coat frock, and hat of same shade. Airs. F. S. Miller, flecked tweed costume and furs, felt hat to tone. Airs. L. E. Cassrells (Paeroa), blue plaid tweed tailored suit and hat of same material. Airs. Watson-Russell (Paeroa), navy blue cardigan stiit relieved with scarlet touches, scarlet hat. Airs. E. Watson, blade corded silk coat, black velvet hat. Airs. F. McCnllough, apple green repp, coat and hat to match. AlrSi V. Boles, black and cherrydress, hat to match. Airs. J. B. Liggins, autumn tinted tailored suit, blush pink hat. Mrs. L. Griffin navy corded silk coat, hat to tone. Airs R. AleUsop (Matatoki), blue repp, coat and fox furs, navy hat. Airs. A. E. Boles, fawn jumper suit, with touches of red. and trimmed hat with red trimmings. Miss AI. Dodd, dull rose frock, hat to tone. Aliss 0. Hunter, rose jumper suit of crepe-de-chine, black crinoline hat.
