CATTLE DISPUTE.
BEFORE SUPREME COURT.
“POSITION MONSTROUS.” JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF. (Special.—Own Correspondent.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. A case in which the legal costs involved far exceed the property in a dispute was finally argued before Mr Justice Reed in the Supreme Court yesterday. The question at issue was the ownership of certain cattle v and their progeny, and the plaintiff was Irene Nicholson, of Walton. Defendants were Thomas and Kathleen Foote, of' Kaihere, Hauraki Plains.
plaintiff claimed some of the cattle on defendant’s property were hers. After hearing much argument, His Honour said that the position seemed monstrous. Here were a couple of beasts, probably not worth more than a couple of pounds and the parties were put to enormous expense through litigation in the Supreme Court. He gave judgment for plaintiff.
