NATIONAL RESERVE.
MEMBERS’ GOOD WORK. A feature of yesterday’s luncheon to the pioneers a full report of which will appeal* in to-morrow' 0 s‘ “Star,” was the efficient manner in. which it was conducted by the members of the Thames branches of the Women’s National Reserve and Plunket Society, under the supervision of Mrs. E, F. Adams.
The Executive Committee had greatly underestimated the number of pioneer s 3 and had originally requested members to cater for 130 visitors. The number which actually arrived, however, was nearly 300, and the luncheon had to be taken in relays. Despite the unexpected demand on its resources and the inadequacy of the seating accommodation, the ladies .in charge of the arrangements rose to the occasion, and carired out their often difficult duties in an efficient and capable manner.
