HAURAKI BRIDGE.

COUNTY CONTRIBUTION. FURTHER INSTALMENT. The Public Works Department ad--Vised the Thames County Council on Wednesday that an instalment of £2OOO .on account of the above bridge, was now required. A further instalment of £2OOO would be required in six months’ • time, and the balance of the subsidy, £IOOO, was wanted at the end of twelve months. The Clerk explained that arrangements were practically completed for the payment of the amount by loan. When this was received finances could be adjusted accordingly. The chairman moved that the Public Trustee be requested to advance the amount as required. This would mean a saving of interest. Carried.
