The following is a copy of a telegram sent this morning by the Superintendent : “Reached footwall of mam reef about 15ft. wide, driving hillward on footwall commenced.” ZEEHAN The Mine Manager’s report for the week ended May Bth states that during the week the east crosscut was advanced sft., making a total of 24ft. in the crosscut and 35ft. from the hanging wall of the north drive, 33ft of which is in reef formation. The last 3ft. driven is in what appears to be the footwall, and is composed of quartz stringers and hard country heavily impregnated with iron pyrites. As there is still a strong flow of water coming from the face, we will crosscut a few feet further before, starting to drive along the footwall.
