RAIDS IN WELLINGTON,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 12. As the result of raids on houses in Tory, Taranaki and Haining Streets yesterday, Lovis Wing was fined £lO, and Wong Gun and Ah Lee were each fined £3O. The Europeans found on the premises were fined £2 each. Counsel for the defendants said it did not appear that fines would stop this form of gambling, which he said differed very- little from the art unions run by Europeans.
