DISTRICT NOTES.
TUIIUA. (From Our Correspondent.) A very successful children’s concert was held in the Turua Hall on Friday evening, in aid of the Plunket Society. The hall was packed, and practically every item was encored. Miss Blake officiated at the piano for the dancing, and Mrs. Walker for the singing. The programme went through without a hitch, and reflects great credit on the two ladies who trained the children, Mrs. McKenzie and Mrs. Tynan. After the conceit, refreshments were served to all, and then dancing was indulged iu by the adults until the wee sma’ hours. The following children took part in the concert: —Opening chorus by the Company; tambourine dance, Miss Kathleen Truelove; song “Lullaby Land,” the Company; military dance, Flossie Reed; “Tally Ho!” dance, Joy McKenzie; “Bubbles” song, the Company: dance, Dorothy Davies; Cake Walk (dance), Lily Clotworthy and A. Truelove; recitation, “The Rainbow,” Small Girls; dancing steps, the Company; recitation, “The Secret,” Miss Alison Henry; song, “Lads in Navy Blue,” Chorus; interval; pianoforte duet, Lily Clotworthy and Agnes Dale; Dutch dance, Alice and Kathleen Truelov.e and Dorothy Davies; song, “Baggy Breeches,” Miss Dorothy Pentecost and Miss -Jean Gardiner; skipping rope dance, Lily Clotworthy; “Till the Boys Come Home,” the Company; Irish jig, Ida Schmidt and Flossie Reid; duet, Kathleen'Truelove and l’vy Stephens; song, “If you were the only girl,” the Company; spring soug dance, Ida Schmidt; Scotch dancing, Miss Charteris; ribbon march, the Company; closing chorus, the Company; “God Save the King.”
