No little amusement was caused at the High School sports recently when a competitor in the relay race manfully completed his lap with his overcoat on (reports the Oamaru Mail). It happened that he had been anticipating the race to bo run in heats, and it was only when his team mate 1 thrust the stick into his hands that he realised he was expected to run his 220 yards, whether his coat were on or off. He accomplished wonders con- ; sidering his burden; but, needless to I say, his team did not win..
