' The following figures are taken from the report presented by the Auckland Education Board to His Honour the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, May Ist., 1875, and will prove of interest to readers: Ivauaeranga Boys’ School. —Roll, 343 (largest roll number in the Auckland district). Total, 1,472 pupils (to-day 545.) Tapu School.—Roll, 4S. Teacher: John Murray. The population of Thames is given as 8073; the pupils for the Auckland Education District as 8,284 (to-day 65,000). The Waiotahi School Committee had five schools under its charge.
