SENTENCE ON MERVYN BANKS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 15. At the Supreme Court, Mervyn Banks, aged 35, for the theft of £425 from the Canterbury Agricultural College, was sentenced to reformative treatment for 12 months. Mr Justice Reed suggested there should be stricter supervision in the books in similar Government services.
