OBITUARY.

MRS S. E .THOMPSON

The friends of Mrs S. E. Thompson relict of the late Robert Henry Thompson, will regret to learn of her death, which took place at the residence of her son, Mr H. Thompson, of Newmarket. The late Mrs Thompson was one of Auckland’s early citiezns, having arrived in New Zealand by the sailing ship Merry Shepherd nearly 60 years ago. On the opening of the Thames goldfields, Mr and Mrs Thompson followed the rush, and were among .the first to stake out their claims. For about forty years Mrs Thompson lived at Tararu Road, Thames, removing to Auckland some sixteen years ago. Mrs Thompson leaves five sons all <?f Auckland, to mourn her loss.
