EGYP’TS ATTITUDE REGRETTED. IMPOSSIBLE DEMANDS. (Reuter.) LONDON, Jul^.l. Regret; at the attitude of the- Egyptian Government and Parliament over the question of the' Sudan was expressed by Mr MacDonald in the Commons. ~ He said the statements in the Egyptian; Parliament and., the action taken to create trouble in the Sudan were only explainable'as an attempt to force Mr Macdonald’s hapd and deprive Zaghlul of liberty of negotiation. In view of ,what ( has happened it is necessary for Mr MacDonald to make it clear to all concerned that he did njk believe the Commons would .accept any arrangement which would break British pledges to the 'Sudan or jeop■ardtse the present administration and its development.. He still trusted those responsible for the Government of bot®, countries would refuse to countenance the impossible demands which would destroy qnj T prospect of settlement.
