ABSORBED BY LONDON. LONDON, April, 22. The spreading tentacles of greater London threaten to absorb the villa*;*? of Stoke Poges Church which is famous as the resting place of the poet Gray. The churchyard L the traditional scene of tiis Elegy. Although Stokes Poges is 20 miles from London many suburban houses an* already erected and this is leading to the fear of an encroachment on tin* picturesque surroundings of the churchyard which is still present'd practically unchanged sine*? it was the scene of Gray's meditations.
