THAMES V. ROTORUA. v . . The local representatives journey* ed to Rotorua on Good Friday and met the Rotorua players on Easter Saturday, Thames proving successful after an interesting game. Batting first, Rotorua compiled 110 ,Woodward 56, not out, and Johns, 17, being the principal scorers. The former played a very fine innings. Thames replied with 136 (Gleeson 52, G. Buchan 22, Dare 19, not out, and Griffin 15.) Gleeson played a very useful innings, and was unfortunate is not carrying his bat. Time did not permit of two innings being played. Godsalve, 3 for 54, were the principal bowlers. The visitors had a most enjoyable time, and were well entertained by the Rotorua players. On Sunday morning Whakarewarewa was visited and the team was fortunate in seeing the Frog Pool in action, this occasion being the first in two months, and the highest in six years. In- the afternoon the team was taken to Wairoa to see the Blue and Green Lakes, the Falls, and other interesting sights. All were sorry that the visit could not he prolonged, and are looking forward to another visit next year.
