CONFERENCE FAILS.

WEST COAST MINING TROUBLE, (Press Association*. REEFTON, Oct. 25. The conference presided over hy the Minister of Mines, which has been meeting here for the past two days in the hope of settling the coalmine trouble on the West Coast, has broken down. The miners’ delegates put forward certain proposals which the owners were not prepared to accept, and as it was clear no agreement could bo reached, the conference terminated.
