The British official view is that the Mudania Conference is .only a preliminary step, and that later General Harington will insist on the evacuation of the Chanak area.
■Reched Bey, an Angora diplomatist, has arrived in London, lid® says thbt the Turks will ask for the return of Thrace. A Russian note declines to recognise any decision unless the .Soviet is represented at the Conference.
