OBITUARY.

MR JOHN HENRY STEEDMAN. - - \ The death occurred early this morning at Rotorua of Mr John Henry. Steedman, third son of the late J. B. Steedman, of Thames, a wellknown resident of Thames. The late Mr Steedman was 52 years of age, and was born in Thames. He was for many vears engaged pastoral pursuits at Waikawau, which he relinquished and was living in retirement at the time of his death. He had been ailing for some considerable time, and about-five months ago went to Rotorua in the hopes of .a betterment in his health, but he died early this morning. Deceased was jvvell known throughout the Thames district and had many friends, He leaves a wife and five young children, who reside at Parawai. The in-, terman will take place at Thames.

MAYOR OF PORT CHALMERS. (Press Association.) DUNEDIN. March 27. The death is reported of Mf. J. M. Stevenson, Mayor of Port Chalmers, well-known in yachting circles.
