VALMARIE’S POSITION. PROSPECTS OF RE-FLOATING. (A. and N.Z. Cable.» NELSON, Feb. 22. The Tutanekai 'arrived at Nelson this morning. Last night she anchored off the Valmarie. Captain Collins reports that the vessel, is high and dry, but in a good position, being stern on. The next spring tides would be 18 inches less than when the vessel stranded, but providing there is not much sea on and good anchors are out there is a possibility that the swell may 7 take her off. The tides at the Spit are influenced by wind. If a westerly blows the tide's will be poor. South-easterly winds were throwing the sand all over the vessel when the Tutanekai left. The Opawa was standing by.
