THAMES ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE,

The executive of the Thames Cricket Association met last night, the president, Mr R. E. Rudman, presiding. There were present: Messrs W. Hoult, H. Laing, S. Rowbottom, L. Duffield, and F. Gibson, the hon. secretary. f .. The delegates present were:—R.S.A., Messrs A. Brokenenshire and H. G. Murray; School of Mines, Messrs L. Kitching and W. Gleeson.

After some discussion it was decided to play only one more round.

Waihi asked for a return match and it was decided that, if a match could be arranged, Thames should send a team to Waihi before Easter. If that was not possible the Waihi fixture would be placed first on the list for next season.

Mr H. F. Purnell wrote regarding the visit of a Miranda team an Saturday next. He asked if it would be possible to arrange for a “B” team to play the Miranda juniors.

The committee decided that as no suitable ground was available only one match could be played. Messrs W. McCullough and A; G. Bryan waited on the committee and outlined the position regarding the proposed War Memorial. They went fully into the matter and asked for the eO-operation of the Cricket Association. The committee decided to convene a meeting of all sports bodies, to be held in the High School on Monday evening at 7.30, to. discuss Avhat action should be taken to assist the movement. Messrs McCullough and Bryan will address the meeting. Arrangements were made for the match to be played at Paeroa on' Saturday.
