BOWLING.
TE AROHA TOURNAMENT. The Te Aroha Bowling Club commenced their 19th annual tournament on Monday morning- with 27 teams. Clubs at Thames, Paeroa, Waihi, Morrinsville, Matamata, Hamilton, Ngaruawahia, Mt. Eden, Ponsonby, Pukekohe, Frank ton, Tauranga, Cambridge and Te Aroha were represented. Before play commenced the president of the (dub, Mr J. A. Clothier, welcomed the visiting players and wished them a happy time at the tournament and a prosperous New Year. Through the foresight and energy of the secretary, Mr P. Bygrave, and his committee, the arrangements were. excellent. The first, two days of the .tournament were played in very hot weather.
