NOTICES OF DISMISSAL. (A. and N. Z. Cable.) SYDNEY, Dee. 21. It is estimated that as the result jQf the dismissal over 5000 ironworkers will be rendered idle after Friday next, as, in addition to the Clyde works, several other works have served notices on thje men> The leaders of the iron trade workers are of the opinion that the decision to close down the various works is a move to defeat the Federal award, which provides for payment for the Christmas holidays. .
