MILKING RETURNS.
SOME DOMINION YIELDS
For the six months commencing January 1, and ending June 30, 1921, the number of dairy cows qualifying for the certificate of record was com - paratively small, owing to the fact that few cows completed their test during the first six months of th.e year. Three breeds were represented, and some excellent yields were recorded. , ; In mature Jerseys, J. Hale's (New Plymiuth) Jersey, Bank Treasure, topped the list with a yield of 13,204.01 b of milk and 717.021 b of butter-fat. In mature Fresians, W. D. Hunt's (Invercargill) Oakwood Rambler yielded 23,952.61 b of milk and 820.931 bof butter-fat. In mature milking Shorthorns, Ranstead Bros.’ (Matangi) Maniaroa Princess yielded 15,951.71 bof milk for the season, and 700.761 b of butter-fat. The next yield from a senior two-year-old Jersey was 5929.51 b of milk, which produced 313.881 b of butterfat, and from a Fresian senior two-year-old belonging to H. North and Sons (Omimi) 666.691 b of butter-fat was produced from 16,649.91 b of milk. In the junior two-year-olds a Jersey produced 452.721 b of butter-fat, and a Fresian 437.851 b.
